Meeco Sullivan is proud to announce the successful completion of a significant dock project at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This prestigious project highlights our expertise in creating durable, high-quality marine infrastructure that meets the unique needs of each site.

A Blend of Timber and Aluminum for Optimal Performance
The docks at the Naval Academy are a combination of robust timber structures and precision-engineered aluminum gangways. The timber docks offer the classic strength and durability that Meeco Sullivan is known for, while the aluminum gangways, manufactured at our Ravens Marine plant, ensure a seamless and stable connection between the docks and shore.

Integration with Existing Infrastructure
One of the key challenges of this project was integrating our new docks with an existing concrete wave attenuator produced by another manufacturer. Our team worked diligently to ensure a perfect fit, creating a cohesive and functional docking system that enhances the overall marine environment at the Academy.

Premium Ipe Decking for Longevity and Aesthetics
For the decking, we selected Ipe wood, renowned for its exceptional durability and natural resistance to the elements. Ipe not only adds a rich, natural aesthetic to the docks but also ensures that they will withstand the test of time, even in a demanding marine setting like the Naval Academy.

Tailored Design for Diverse Needs
The dock system includes several specialized features to meet the unique requirements of the Academy. This includes sloped docks with a low freeboard, providing easy access for various watercraft, and an additional 22 slips designed for recreational boats. These elements combine to create a versatile and user-friendly docking system that serves both functional and recreational purposes.
