Construction is progressing on a new harbor at Bear Lake State Park along the shoreline of Bear Lake. The project, which was successfully bid and awarded in 2023–2024, will soon bring a new Meeco Sullivan marina to this popular recreation destination.
A major milestone has recently been reached with the harbor basin now fully enclosed. The next step is de-watering the basin so excavation can begin to reach the harbor’s final depth. According to the project’s general contractor, Whitaker Construction Group, the excavation phase is expected to take approximately 100 days once de-watering is complete.
Over the winter months, significant progress has been made at the site, preparing the area for this next phase of construction. Projects that involve digging and creating an entirely new harbor basin are relatively uncommon, making this development especially notable.
As excavation moves forward, Bear Lake will soon be home to a brand-new Meeco Sullivan marina, providing improved access and docking opportunities for the many boaters who visit this iconic lake each year.
