McAlester, OK — Meeco Sullivan announces the completion of the latest renovation at Rochester Yacht Club. Residing on the Genesee River at the south shoreline of Lake Ontario, Rochester Yacht Club has a large area of slips for both members and visitors. The latest addition is part of a multi-million-dollar renovation plan, which began in 2016 and has a planned completion within the next four years. Since its inception in 1877, the Rochester Yacht Club has become one of the most revered yacht clubs in the United States.
Due to high water levels making a large portion of Rochester Yacht Club’s slips unusable, the delivery of their Meeco Sullivan Steel floating dock system arrived at an opportune time. This new
floating dock included sixteen fingers ranging from 30′ to 40′ in length for a total of thirty-four new slips for the current season. While working to create a clean and modern look for the marina, Meeco Sullivan developed an unique non-visible steel pile system to replace the wooden piles that obstructed an otherwise beautiful view of the marine basin. Rochester Yacht Club opted for black locust decking, an environmentally friendly, rot-resistant, and durable type of wood indigenous to North America.
The design and manufacturing were completed by Meeco Sullivan, while Rochester Yacht Club personally handled the installation process. This option to completing installation in-house
solidified their decision in choosing Meeco Sullivan as it provided them with access to a quality product with no additional costs. Facilities Chairman and Project Manager, Pat Basset commented, “The product was exactly as bargained for and the delivery was spot on and on time so our club could enjoy the new docks for a full first season in 2020.
